High-resolution HLA Class II typing:
Taking
advantage from the precise and high-resolution molecular method of PCR-RDB HLA class II is typed; For example, in the
DRB region more than 128 alleles are specified for DRB1, DRB3, DRB4, DRB5 and
DRB5 genes. Following multiplex PCR of the DNA for the four DRB genes, the PCR products are hybridized
with the sequence-specific probes and the results are analyzed using a computer
program and the individuals’ genotypes are determined.
HLA typing has got a lot of applications including;
Bone marrow and organ transplantation, paternity analysis and other forensic
issues as an alternative to the DNA fingerprinting.
